'He's Doing A Great Job': Trump Denies Considering FBI Director Kash Patel's Ouster

Amid reports that the US President is mulling the removal of Indian-American FBI Director Kash Patel in the coming months, Donald Trump denied the claims and said that he thinks Patel is doing a “great job".

“No, he's doing a great job. Kash Patel? He's doing a great job, I think," said Trump when asked if he is planning to replace Kash Patel as FBI Director.

Speculations grew after it was reported that Trump and his top aides became increasingly uneasy with the string of negative headlines surrounding the FBI Director. Patel is facing scrutiny over the usage of bureau's resources and SWAT security his girlfriend.

Several reports suggested that Trump and White House aides have confided to allies that the US President is considering whether or not to remove Patel. Meanwhile, it is also being reported that the US President might consider top FBI official Andrew Bailey as the bureau's new director.

With Andrew Bailey emerging as the most likely replacement, Patel is speculated to be on a “thin ice", and his exit looks closer than ever.

The White House on Tuesday rejected the swirling media reports that President Donald Trump was contemplating the removal of FBI Director Kash Patel, dismissing the claims amidst heightened scrutiny over Patel's professional conduct.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt took to social media to firmly push back against the speculation, branding the story as “completely made up".

Leavitt posted a photo of the President Trump and Patel, explaining that the rumour broke while the two were in the Oval Office meeting with the law enforcement team. She recounted that after reading the headline aloud, President Trump simply laughed and said, “That's totally false. Come on Kash, let's take a picture to show them you're doing a great job!"
