'Hates Indians, Jews': Trump's Son Fires Fresh Salvo Against NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani
Eric Trump, the second son of US President Donald Trump, escalated his attacks on New York City's mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of harbouring animosity toward the city's Indian community.
Speaking to Fox News, Eric Trump argued that major American cities are being transformed by what he called an “extreme far-left agenda," claiming large corporations are struggling under policies he likened to socialism.
He lamented what he described as New York's decline, saying the city “used to be the greatest in the world" but had lost that status “because of politics."
During the interview, Trump sharply criticised Mamdani, characterising the Democratic socialist's platform as disconnected from the city's needs.
He claimed New York now has “a socialist, a communist… who wants to nationalise grocery stores, wants to arrest Netanyahu, hates the Jewish population, hates the Indian population."
Trump, who serves as executive vice president of the Trump Organisation, argued that the incoming mayor should focus on basic governance, such as public safety, clean streets, and reasonable taxes, and asserted that the city could flourish “without government interference."
He also tied Mamdani to prominent progressive leaders, including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, reviving his long-standing criticism of her opposition to Amazon's proposed headquarters in New York.
“They were going to bring tens of thousands of high-paying jobs, and she chased them out like dogs," he said.
Eric Trump's remarks follow comments he made at a Turning Point USA event earlier this month, where he warned that a city led by what he called the “crazy" ideas of Mamdani would be catastrophic.
“This will destroy a great American city," he told attendees, adding, “There is a literal communist elected as New York City mayor."
Mamdani, however, is set to make history when he takes office on January 1.
His victory over Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa positions him as New York City's most left-leaning mayor in decades, and its first Muslim mayor, its first of South Asian heritage, its first born in Africa, and the youngest to hold the office in more than a century.
At his election-night celebration, Mamdani delivered a message aimed directly at President Trump.
“Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up," he said, adding that if any place can demonstrate how a country disillusioned by Donald Trump can move forward, “it is the city that produced him."
