Citizens in US wait eagerly for the Halloween to arrive, many wonder if Halloween is a federal holiday or not.
When is Halloween in US?
This year, Halloween will be celebrated on October 31, Friday in the US and it is not a federal holiday in the US. This means federal services like post offices, stock markets, police stations, Walmart stores and banks will remain open in Halloween. What is open and closed on Halloween?
As Halloween falls on a weekday this year, regular public services and businesses in the United States will continue to operate, according to Primetimer. Schools will remain open, though many are expected to allow students to dress up and take part in classroom celebrations.Mail delivery services, including the United States Postal Service and FedEx, will also be open. Federal banks such as Bank of America, Citibank, and Wells Fargo will continue regular operations, and pharmacies will remain open as well.
Since Halloween is not a federal holiday, banking services and ATMs will function as usual, and there will be no need for long queues outside branches. Retail stores, including Walmart and Costco, are expected to operate on regular schedules. Major stock exchanges, including NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange, will also remain open.

Best places in US to celebrate Halloween
As Halloween approaches, the United States is gearing up for celebrations across several states, with a variety of events scheduled from early October through October 31.-In Salem, Massachusetts the “Festival of the Dead” is from from October 1 to November 2 and features interactive spirit-themed booths and a “Witches Ball”with DJ-driven music.
-In Corning, New York the “Days of Incandescence” celebrates local history and glass-making with period costumes, pumpkin carving, live music and horse-and-wagon rides.
-In New York City the “Village Halloween Parade” on October 31 (7 pm–11 pm) is expected to draw about two million participants and spectators and it features large puppets, marching bands and elaborate costumes.

-In Stockbridge, Massachusetts the “Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show” takes place at a historic Gilded-Age estate. Visitors walk the gardens and view pumpkins carved into characters from TV and pop culture, and hot cocoa is available. The event runs on Wednesdays and Sundays through October.
