A heartwarming video is winning hearts across social media, thanks to a brave German Shepherd who protected children from a stray dog. The clip, reportedly from a residential area in Rishikesh, shows the loyal pet springing into action, leaping down and chasing the stray away to keep the kids safe.
The footage begins with the German Shepherd inside a house, watching over the street from behind a wall as children run past. When a stray dog starts following them, the alert canine immediately jumps off the wall to confront and drive it away.
The dog's swift reaction has been widely praised online, though the exact background and authenticity of the video have not been officially verified. The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “A dog jumped like a superhero to save children from another dog."

Social Media Praises ‘Dogesh Bhai'
Since being shared online, the footage has accumulated more than one lakh views. It also sparked a wave of admiration for the brave German Shepherd, who many affectionately nicknamed “Dogesh Bhai" for his heroic act.
One user commented, “Dogs are more loyal than humans, it's proven again."
Another wrote, “Well done, Dogesh Bhai. Dogesh Bhai showed great loyalty and saved the children."
Several others joined in with remarks like “Dogesh bhai ki jai ho," “Dogesh Bhai supremacy", and “Dogesh Bhai ka aura hai."
An individual called him the “real bodyguard of children", while someone else described him as “a silent guardian, a watchful protector."
“Animals are the real HEROES," a person remarked.
“That leap though…..at such heights too. Looked like that could've hurt if it wasn't most likely some trained dog retired, maybe… Regardless absolutely honourable behaviour and such a blessing to witness," read another comment.
Supreme Court Orders Action On Stray Dogs
On Monday, the Supreme Court directed the Delhi government and the civic bodies of Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad to capture stray dogs, sterilise them, and relocate them permanently to shelters within eight weeks.
A bench comprising Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan instructed that dog shelters capable of housing around 5,000 stray dogs be established, with adequate staff assigned for sterilisation and vaccination. The Court made it clear that once moved to these shelters, stray dogs must not be released back onto streets, residential colonies, or public places.
“We need to pick up round up with whatever means to ensure dog free locality, and that's how children and the aged will feel safe. Have you seen the classic ‘Good, Bad and the Ugly' – when you want to shoot, shoot, don't talk. It's not the time to talk but act," the Supreme Court said.

The bench further stressed, “Infants and young children, not at any cost, should not fall prey to rabies. The action should inspire confidence that they can move freely without fear of being bitten by stray dogs. No sentiments should be involved."
The top court also warned that strict action would be taken against any individual or organisation attempting to obstruct the authorities' efforts to capture and shelter stray dogs.
