Gurugram Schools To Shift To Hybrid Mode Till Class 5 Due To Pollution
All government and private schools in Gurugram, Haryana (NCR region) have been instructed to conduct hybrid classes for students up to class 5. It will be up to the students and their guardians to decide whether to attend online or offline classes. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram announced in an official post on X that this decision has been made to ensure the health and safety of school children.
According to the guidelines of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), the orders issued on November 13, 2025, regarding hybrid mode classes up to Grade 5 in the Gurugram district will remain in effect until further notice, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram stated via the official ‘X' account. Parents and schools have been advised to strictly follow the instructions and stay updated on further directions considering air quality conditions.
DC Gurugram issued a directive on hybrid classes today as a continuation of an earlier notice from November. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Gurugram district has been in the ‘Very Poor' category for the past few days.

Earlier, the Delhi Government issued a directive announcing hybrid classes for all students except those in class 12. This decision was made on Saturday after the government invoked the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4, instructing all government and private schools in Delhi to remain closed until further notice.
The Minister of Education, Ashish Sood, stated that all Heads of Schools have been directed to ensure strict adherence to these instructions and promptly inform parents and guardians about the revised arrangements. Furthermore, all government and private offices in Delhi have been instructed to operate at 50 per cent capacity, with the remaining 50 per cent working from home.
