Gurgaon Couple Lists 11 Reasons Why India Is Better Than Abroad: ‘In Rs 100, You Get A Haircut, Chai, Samosa & Friend’
Living abroad often comes with dreams of better opportunities and new experiences. But for one couple, life in India still holds a special charm that the overseas lifestyle can't quite match. Reminding many Indians that the chaos in our home country carries its own kind of joy, they listed 11 witty comparisons between India and life abroad on Instagram.
The video, titled ‘You travel abroad, only to realise how much better India actually is,' highlights how everyday conveniences in India are more convenient, social and emotionally fulfilling than settling overseas.
From speedy customer service and affordable street food to lively festivals and spontaneous friendships, the couple paints a bright picture of India's “chaotic perfection."
Couple's Comparisons Of India And Abroad
Their first comparison focuses on delivery services. “Swiggy delivers before you even get hungry in India. Abroad: Your parcel will arrive in 5-7 business days. Bro, I'll starve by then," they quipped.
Similarly, they described customer service as immediate in India but email-based and slow overseas. “India: Sir, please stay on the line, we are resolving it. Abroad: Email us. Wait two weeks. Manifest a reply," they wrote.

Street food: “In India: 250 pani puri = happiness unlocked. Abroad: £8 sandwich = depression with lettuce."
Public transport: “In India, Buses come every 5 minutes. Abroad: Walk for miles until you are tired. I could've walked to India by now"
Festivals: “India: Streets glowing, neighbours dancing, sweets everywhere. Abroad: You light one diya and your flatmate asks if it's a fire drill."
Value for money: “India: Rs 100 = haircut, chai, samosa, and a friend. Abroad: £10 = one coffee and existential crisis."
Social life: “India: Random chai stall → 5 new friends. Abroad: People book friendship 3 weeks in advance."
Auto rickshaw culture: “India: Bhaiya, station chaloge? Abroad: 2 buses + 1 train + 45 min walk = same destination."
They even touched on healthcare costs and the comfort of local culture, joking, “India: Rs 500 and a doctor still calls you beta. Abroad: A week later appointment just to know two paracetamols and rest."
The couple also compared house help and cost of living in India and abroad. They jokingly wrote, “India: ‘Didi, please clean the house.' Abroad: You are the didi now."
Talking about festive leaves, the user expressed that Diwali means a week off, family, and sweets in India, but abroad it only means wishes. “Happy Diwali! Anyway, see you at work tomorrow," they wrote.
Here's How Desis Are Responding?
As expected, social media users wasted no time in sharing their reactions. A majority of users asked the individuals to fly back to India, while others nodded in agreement to the claims.
“Can't agree more," read a comment.
Another said, “You can come back. You are more than welcome here."
“Everyone must be aware ofr India," commented a user.

Concluding their post, the couple perfectly summed up their feelings, “It's called chaotic perfection. It's noise, it's emotion, it's warmth — and that's India for you. We leave to chase dreams, but somewhere between silent streets and slow Wi-Fi, we realize… there's no place like home."
