The western state of Gujarat has sent a delegation to the 56th World Economic Forum 2026 at Davos, where the team led by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi aims to attract investments in several key sectors such as defence, semiconductors and renewable energy.

“To present the vision of a developed Gujarat by 2047 on the world's biggest platform, the World Economic Forum, a delegation from Gujarat is heading to Davos today. Over the next four days, the team will work to attract investments in electronics, defence, semiconductors, renewable energy, and several other sectors," he told reporters.
He noted that Gujarat has emerged as a preferred investment destination in recent years under the leadership of CM Bhupendra Patel. The efforts made by the government will continue to create more employment opportunities for the youth, he said.
At WEF 2026, Sanghavi will undertake an intensive programme of over 58 high-level meetings with global leaders and investors across key sectors, including advanced manufacturing, textiles, semiconductors, emerging technologies, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, food processing, chemicals, shipping and logistics, electronics, and aerospace, the state government said in a release earlier.
Proposed interactions include leading global companies such as AP Moller Maersk, Engie, EDF, Johnson Controls, Sumitomo Group, Linde, SEALSQ, Tillman Global, and others.
