Google Photos Will Soon Let You Edit Faces Of People: How It Might Work

Google Photos is popular for editing and also letting you store memories across time. And soon the app is going to let you edit the faces of people with in-depth details and levels being tested internally. The news about the new feature has been shared by Android Authority in its report, where it claims to have spotted the feature in an APK teardown of the Photos app. The feature called Touch Up will allow you to tweak/edit specific parts of the image, which includes the person in the frame.

Touch Up In Photos Coming Soon?

The report walks us through how Touch Up Works and where you might find it in the Photos app. You will see it in the Actions tab and when you use it for the first time, it will seek your permission to download the right AI model that brings the feature.

The Touch Up option will give you smooth, under eyes, irises, teeth and lips among others. Choosing any of these will let you edit the specific part of the person. You can select the level and save the final clip to use. The report suggests Touch Up will also let you edit photos with multiple people and select them individually.

This is an interesting addition to the Photos app from Google and going by the app teardown we can expect Google to bring the tool for its users in the next few months. Photo is already taking the AI route, albeit gradually coming to all users.

The company sees Photos as a pillar of its AI evolution powered by Gemini and having more features built into the technology will enable people to do things that other third-party apps have offered for a premium.

Google Workspace Studio was launched earlier this month which enables users to create AI agents for different tasks within the Workspace apps. Mainly targeted at the enterprise customers, the new AI agent tool is not only going to help them design and manage the AI agents but also share with others.

AI agents are crawling around everywhere and even in browsers you have seen these agents capable of taking over the system and handling your tasks. Google is sort of making a store where these AI agents can be created and then offered to other people.
