Gold Rate Today: Gold prices continue to experience sharp fluctuations as domestic and international cues drive investor sentiment. After touching historic highs in January, prices have moderated in the Indian bullion market, even as futures and overseas rates show mixed movement. On Saturday, February 7, gold prices stood at Rs 15,370 per gram for 24-carat gold, Rs 14,089 per gram for 22-carat gold, and Rs 11,527 per gram for 18-carat gold, according to the data from Goodreturns.
According to GoodReturns, domestic prices of 24-carat gold eased to Rs 1,52,500 per 10 grams, compared to the record peak of Rs 1,79,010 per 10 grams seen on January 29.
MCX Futures Show Mild Recovery After Weak Start
On Friday, February 7, MCX gold prices touched an intraday low of Rs 1,48,455 per 10 grams after the Reserve Bank of India announced its decision to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent.

Why Prices Fell: Experts Weigh In
Bullion traders said domestic prices softened mainly due to profit-taking at higher levels, even as global precious metals recovered later in the day. According to news agency PTI-Bhasha, Mirae Asset Sharekhan's commodity head Praveen Singh said spot gold opened on a weak note and touched a low of $4,654 per ounce. But it recovered sharply and traded at $4,880 per ounce, up nearly two per cent. He said weak US employment data supported precious metals, but hopes of a breakthrough in US-Iran talks limited the upside.
