A horrifying video is making the rounds on social media, capturing a brazen act of assault against women on a moving train. The clip, which has sparked massive outrage on X (formerly Twitter), shows a heated altercation between a group of girls and a male passenger that ends in physical violence.
The viral footage begins with the girls recording a man lying on the upper berth. According to the girls, the man had been leering at them incessantly for over two and a half hours. In the video, they can be heard confronting him, asking, “2.5 ghante se ghoor kyu rahe ho?" (Why have you been staring for 2.5 hours?).
What started as a verbal confrontation quickly turned ugly. The man is seen climbing down from his berth, and instead of explaining himself, he lunges forward and slaps the girl recording the video. The shock in the girl’s voice is audible as she screams, “Ye humko maara hai. Haath kaise lagaya. Thappad kaise maara tumne!" (He hit me. How did you touch me? How dare you slap me!).

The video has prompted a flood of angry responses, with many tagging the Railway Ministry (@RailMinIndia) and Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, demanding immediate arrest. The video was shared on X with this caption: “This video of misbehavior and assault on women in the train is going viral on social media. Until this culprit is caught, tag the responsible officials. @RailMinIndia. This beast should be given the harshest of harsh punishments."
Users are particularly disturbed by the lack of intervention from fellow passengers who were seen standing nearby. “How the hell did this b***ard get the guts to raise his hand, and the public is just standing there watching!"
“Is this monster roaming freely while the railway administration sleeps? The responsible officials should feel ashamed," wrote another user. “The fact that he slapped her for simply raising a concern is terrifying. Will women’s safety ever be ensured like this?," added another concerned viewer.
