'Forever Indebted': Shefali Shah Thanks Fans In An Emotional Post For Love To Delhi Crime Season 3

Shefali Shah is overwhelmed by the response her recently released series, Delhi Crime Season 3, is receiving. In the new season of the much-acclaimed series, Shefali Shah returns as fierce cop DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, one of the most complex and powerful characters to come out of Indian streaming in recent years.

Now, as the audience is applauding her work, the actress has taken to her social media to pen a long note sharing how she was feeling before the season's release and what her mental state is now.

A post shared by Shefali Shah (@shefalishahofficial)

“I was terrified, is the understatement of the century before Delhi Crime–3 dropped," the actress wrote while starting the long note, and then continued by talking about how this time she played a different side to her already established character of Vartika. Shefali said, “This time there was no bravado, it was just perseverance and a relentless pursuit to find the girls and do what she believes she was born to do — protect, safeguard, and get justice."

She further continued and talked about how the response left her weeping with relief and penned, “When the show dropped and I read the reviews, I was overjoyed and weeping with relief. But then started the outpour of your love. Not only did you understand her, but you'll felt her, rooted for her, backed her, and accepted her with open hearts. You'll didn't just watch her go through every moment, you'll lived it with her and me."

“You'll made me realise two things: We often don't give enough credit to the audience's intelligence and sensitivity. And, I'm lucky to be loved so much. Truly. I'm overwhelmed beyond words. I'm grateful and humbled more than I can show. And it's too small a word to encapsulate all that I feel for you'll, but just THANK YOU," she added.

Shefali concluded her note by thanking her fans and wrote, “Forever indebted, Yours Shefali. P.S. I read all the messages and try and reply to most, but I may have missed some or can't reply to all. But please know I feel every bit of your love. So to every single one of you… THANK YOU."

Delhi Crime Season 3 Based On

The new season of Delhi Crime has also sparked interest because of its real-life inspiration. While Delhi Crime has always taken cues from true events, director Tanuj Chopra revealed the specific case behind Season 3. In an interview with Firstpost, Chopra said, “Here we got the case, the Baby Falak case, where a fourteen-year-old girl in Delhi brings a baby to the hospital with bruises all over her. Over the course of the treatment, cops realise that the young girl is not the mother."

As for the stellar cast, Shefali Shah takes charge once again as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, joined by Huma Qureshi, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Sayani Gupta, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Mita Vasisht, Anuraag Arora and others.
