What is the New World screwworm?
The New World screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) is a parasitic fly that lays eggs in open wounds of warm-blooded animals. Its larvae burrow into living tissue, causing severe damage and, if untreated, death.How do humans get infected?

Authorizing emergency use of animal drugs to treat or prevent infestations. Maintaining a sterile fly barrier between Panama and Colombia with regional partners.
