Delhi: Explosion Reported Near Radisson Hotel In Mahipalpur; Emergency Teams On Site
A report of an explosion near Delhi's Radisson Hotel (Mahipalpur) was confirmed unsubstantiated. Police and Fire Services found no suspicious activity after receiving the 9:18 AM call.
An explosion scare briefly gripped the Mahipalpur area of Delhi on Thursday morning after a call was received reporting a loud bang near the Radisson Hotel.
A high-alert situation briefly arose in Delhi's Mahipalpur area on Thursday morning when reports of a blast-like sound near the Radisson Hotel prompted a swift security deployment. Authorities, already on high alert following the recent Red Fort car blast, rushed police and bomb disposal teams to the scene.

However, after a detailed investigation, Delhi Police confirmed that the source of the noise was not a bomb, but a burst tyre.
The first alarm was raised around 9:18 AM when a woman traveling in the vicinity heard a loud sound and dialed a PCR call.
Quick Action: DFS officials quickly pressed three fire tenders into service, while teams of Delhi Police cordoned off the area. Bomb disposal personnel were also rushed to the spot as a precautionary measure.
Source Identified: The Delhi Police later confirmed the finding of a local inquiry: "During the local enquiry, a guard informed that the rear tyre of a DTC bus going towards Dhaula Kuan had burst, and so the sound had come. The situation is normal and there is nothing to worry about," the police official stated.
The incident has taken place at a time when massive checking and security sweeps are underway across the National Capital and several other states in the wake of the terror attack earlier this week.
Red Fort Blast: The high state of panic emerged due to the deadly car blast near Lal Qila Metro Station on the evening of 10th November. The white Hyundai i20, reportedly driven by suicide bomber Umar Nabi, had exploded and killed 12 people while leaving many injured.
Terror Investigation: The Centre on Wednesday termed the Red Fort incident a "terrorist incident" and the case has been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a thorough probe into the use of explosives and the terror module involved.
