AICTE’s Part-Time B.Tech Course
AICTE has introduced flexible educational programmes for “working professionals". Under this scheme, approved engineering colleges can conduct special classes in the evenings or on holidays. A part-time B.Tech degree will be treated as equivalent to a regular degree, provided the institution has specific approval.
Who Can Apply For Part-Time B.Tech Course?
Some basic eligibility conditions for admission to a part-time B.Tech course are:
Work Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a registered company or organisation.
Educational Qualification: Must hold a Diploma (Polytechnic) in the relevant branch.
Location: Workplace should be located near the institute so that candidates can attend classes regularly.
JEE Not Required
No, JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is not required for part-time or working professional courses. Admission to part-time engineering programmes is based on merit, work experience, and an entrance test/interview conducted by the respective state or university.
Where Can I Study The Part-time B.Tech Course?
Not all colleges offer this course. Only those institutions can conduct it which are approved by AICTE. They must have at least 80% of seats filled in regular courses. The institutes must be approved by the respective state government or technical university. Applicants can check the list of approved institutions on the AICTE website.
