TNEA 2026 process kicks off with release of tentative schedule
The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has released the tentative schedule for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 kicking off the process of admission from Sunday (May 3, 2026).
The online portals for registration of students have been thrown open from Sunday (May 3, 2026). The last date for registration of online application is June 2 and the last date for uploading documents is June 6, as per the schedule. Students may log on to the portals www.tneaonline.org and www.dte.tn.gov.in for registration.
The fee payable for the registration process is ₹250 for students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities and ₹500 for the rest.
During the online registration, the students should upload their certificates for verification. In case of discrepancies, the student would be contacted through their registered mobile number and email ID and may have to report to a TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFC) at a notified time.
The certificate verification process will be held between June 8 and June 20 following which, the rank list will be released on June 29. Students will get a chance to redress their grievances pertaining to the TNEA process between June 30 and July 4. The counselling dates will be announced after approval from AICTE was received, according to TNEA officials.
Students who require assistance for the registration process may walk into any of the 110 TFCs set up across the State. The addresses and phone numbers of these TFCs are available on the TNEA website.
Students may call the integrated call centre set up at the DoTE on the toll free number 1800 425 0110 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. or email tneacare@gmail.com for clarifications regarding the online registration process.
On the website, the candidates will find detailed instructions in Tamil and English, the tentative schedule, the process for uploading certificates, cut off marks for the previous five years of TNEA, details of TFCs, and sample certificates for admission under special quota, a TNEA press release stated.
In 2025, the total number of colleges that took part in the counselling process was 443 offering a total of 2,54,585 seats to engineering aspirants. The number of students enrolled was 2,20,841, which was a 23.67 per cent increase from the figures in 2024, the release added.
