TN 12th Result 2026 (OUT) Live Updates: Tamil Nadu HSE +2 Result Link Released At dge.tn.gov.in; Pass Percentage, Toppers
tnresults nic in, Tamil Nadu HSC 12th Result 2026 Link Live Updates: The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination (TNDGE) has declared the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2026 or class 12th results today, May 8 at 9:30 am.
A total of 95.20 per cent of the students have passed. Among them, 93.19 per cent of the boys and 97 per cent of the girls have passed. Erode district has been named the best-performing district with a pass percentage of 98.07. Sivaganga district stands second with 98.05 per cent, and Kanyakumari district third with 97.63 per cent.
Students can now check now their TN 12th exam results on the official websites at tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in. Besides, with the support of the Tamil Nadu E-Governance Agency, a facility to check results through WhatsApp has been introduced for the first time this year. By sending a text message saying “Hi” to the WhatsApp number 7845252525, the exam results will be sent via WhatsApp. The results can also be accessed via SMS and DigiLocker.
The Class 12 examination for students following the Tamil Nadu state syllabus was conducted from March 2 to 26, with about 8 lakh students appearing. A total of 8,82,806 regular students and 13,744 private candidates took the examination this time.

This year’s overall pass rate is 0.17 percent higher than last year’s public examination. Last year, the overall pass percentage stood at 95.03%. This year, it is 95.20%.
A total of 95.20 per cent of the students have passed. Among them, 93.19 per cent of the boys and 97 per cent of the girls have passed, with a total of 3,47,527 students qualifying. Like previous years, more girls have passed than boys, with girls being 3.81 percent more successful.
For the first time this year, a facility to check results via WhatsApp has been introduced. Simply send a text message saying “Hi” to the WhatsApp number 7845252525, and your exam results will be sent to you on WhatsApp.
District-wise, Erode ranks first overall, followed by Sivaganga, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Trichy districts. In terms of government schools, Erode district is in first place, Sivaganga in second place and Trichy in third place.
With the release of the Class 12 examination results, the pass percentage for government schools is 92.16%, while that for private schools is 98.72%.
As usual, female students have achieved a higher pass rate than male students, with a difference of 3.81 per cent in their favour.
A total of 7.9 lakh students appeared for the exam across Tamil Nadu, of whom 7.53 lakh passed. The overall pass percentage is 95%, according to School Education Secretary Chandramohan.
The online result is not the final mark sheet. A printout of the online result serves only as a provisional mark sheet and should not be assumed to be error-free. If you notice any discrepancy in the online result, inform the authorities at the earliest. Check the following in your mark sheet:
Personal details: Match your name, exam centre name, date of birth, father’s name and spellings, etc. with your admit card and ensure everything is correct.
Totalling: Verify all calculations, including the total marks and percentage, to ensure they are accurate.
Spelling: Make sure every detail, from the student’s name to the exam centre, is spelled correctly. Any spelling error could affect future prospects.

The TN HSC results will be announced shortly. Many times, due to pressure, a student may forget where he or she has kept the admit card. In such a situation, the candidate can contact the school administration and request their roll number and school code.
A1 grades are awarded to students who pass the TN HSC exam with a score of 90 per cent or above, while A2 grades are given to those who pass with a score between 81 per cent and 90 per cent. Students scoring between 35 per cent and 40 per cent receive a D grade. Any student scoring below 35 per cent is considered to have failed and is awarded an E grade.

To pass the Tamil Nadu Class 10 SSLC supplementary examinations, students must score at least 35 out of 100 in each theory subject and secure an overall score of 35 per cent. For eligibility for Class 11, candidates must obtain 15 out of 25 in the practical assessment and 20 out of 75 in the theory examinations.

An impressive number of students secured perfect marks in key subjects, particularly in Computer Science and Mathematics in the 2025 results. A record-breaking 9,536 students scored a full 100 in Computer Science, while 3,022 students achieved a perfect 100 in Mathematics, highlighting students’ strong command of analytical and technical subjects.

Last year’s results showcased strong academic performance across the state, with an overall pass percentage of 95.03%. Female students outperformed male students, achieving a pass percentage of 96.70%, compared to 93.16% for males. In 2024, a total of 7,60,606 students appeared for the Tamil Nadu HSE (+2) examinations. The science stream had the highest number of candidates with 4,86,961 students, followed by 33,256 in the vocational stream and 11,585 in the arts stream. Among them, 4,69,177 science students passed the exams, while 28,549 students cleared the vocational stream and 9,925 passed in the arts stream. The overall pass percentage in 2024 was 94.56%, indicating a steady rise from 94.03% in 2023 and 93.80% in 2022.
