'That Son Of A B****': Comedian Jimmy Kimmel Rips Into Donald Trump, Calls Him Sadist
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel lashed out at Donald Trump, calling the US President “that son of a bitch" during a fiery exchange on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Jimmy Kimmel, one of America's most prominent late-night hosts, appeared as a guest on Stephen Colbert's show when the two discussed their recent setbacks in television. Both faced major blows this year as ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel while CBS announced it would cancel The Late Show after the 2025-26 season.
The decisions were network-driven but Donald Trump seized the moment, mocking both hosts online and celebrating what he described as their “unemployment."
Jimmy Kimmel hit back, saying, “That son of a bitch. It's really unbelievable. I never imagined that we'd ever have a president like this, and I hope we don't have another president like this again. I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs."
Stephen Colbert, who called Jimmy Kimmel a “national treasure," jokingly urged him to “at least add Mister" before the insult. Jimmy Kimmel went further, blasting Donald Trump as “somebody who took pleasure" in others' misfortune, adding, “That, to me, is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be."

Jimmy Kimmel's blunt words triggered a row on social media as critics of the hosts accused Hollywood figures of hypocrisy and elitism. One user posted, “Hollywood lives in a bubble and so far from reality. Entertain the public and shut up. Simple as that."
Another wrote, “So, two late-night hosts are interviewing each other over having the same exact political views? Riveting stuff."
A third mocked, “Who's going to tell him, Disney cancelled him. Not the U.S. Gov."

Others defended Jimmy Kimmel saying his remarks captured what many Americans feel. One user responded, “Mr SOB. Well stated!" while another added, “I never thought the US would have a president like this either. Love from Canada."
Jimmy Kimmel has since returned to his show after his suspension but Stephen Colbert will bow out when his program ends in 2026.
