Stocks to Watch Today, July 30: Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finance, Prestige Estates, Waaree Energies and more

Eicher Motors, Force Motors, Waaree Energies and Prestige Estates have already posted their June quarter numbers, while several Nifty and F&O names are set to report through the day.

Markets will track a fresh set of earnings, corporate actions and stock-specific news on Thursday. Eicher Motors, Force Motors, Waaree Energies and Prestige Estates have already posted their June quarter numbers, while several Nifty and F&O names are set to report through the day. Here’s a look at the key stocks and triggers for today’s session.

Bajaj Finance is scheduled to report results between 12 pm and 2:30 pm, Mahindra & Mahindra between 1 pm and 3 pm, and Tata Steel post-market hours.

Among F&O stocks, Hyundai Motor will report between 2 pm and 3 pm. LIC Housing Finance’s results timing is variable. Mankind Pharma, Swiggy and Torrent Pharma will announce results post-market. IRFC’s timing is also variable, while Mazagon Dock will report between 1 pm and 3 pm, and Vedanta’s timing is variable as well.

UltraTech Cement, Marico

Both stocks turn ex-dividend today. UltraTech Cement will pay a final dividend of Rs 240 per share, and Marico a final dividend of Rs 4 per share.

Anchor investor lock-in is set to open today, covering 2 per cent of CSM Technologies and 34 per cent of Indiqube Spaces.

Eicher Motors’ June quarter results came in slightly ahead of estimates. Revenue rose 31.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 6,632 crore from Rs 5,042 crore, above the Rs 6,390 crore estimate. EBITDA grew 32 per cent to Rs 1,590 crore from Rs 1,203 crore, with margins at 24 per cent versus 23.9 per cent, both ahead of estimates. Net profit rose 21 per cent to Rs 1,463 crore from Rs 1,205 crore, beating the Rs 1,378 crore estimate. Royal Enfield recorded its highest-ever quarterly motorcycle sales of 3,32,940 units, up 27 per cent year-on-year, while VE Commercial Vehicles posted its best-ever June quarter sales of 24,815 vehicles, up 14.8 per cent. The company also reported its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA. Separately, the board approved a capex of Rs 1,225 crore for capacity expansion at its Cheyyar plant in Tamil Nadu, aimed at raising capacity by 4.5 lakh motorcycles. The expansion is expected to be completed by FY30 and will be funded through internal accruals.

Force Motors’ June quarter numbers came in mixed, on the weaker side operationally, though profit was supported by other income and lower tax expense. Revenue rose 6.2 per cent to Rs 2,440 crore from Rs 2,297 crore, while EBITDA fell 1 per cent to Rs 328 crore from Rs 332 crore, with margins at 13.4 per cent versus 14.4 per cent. Net profit rose 23 per cent to Rs 217 crore from Rs 176 crore, aided by other income of Rs 38 crore versus Rs 25 crore, and a lower tax expense of Rs 77 crore versus Rs 101 crore.

Waaree Energies’ June quarter results came in below estimates. Revenue rose 79.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 7,932 crore from Rs 4,426 crore, short of the Rs 8,471 crore estimate. EBITDA grew 44.4 per cent to Rs 1,440 crore from Rs 997 crore, with margins at 18.1 per cent versus 22.5 per cent, both below estimates. Net profit rose 14.1 per cent to Rs 850 crore from Rs 745 crore, against an estimate of Rs 1,025 crore. The company added new orders worth Rs 16,000 crore, taking its total order book to around Rs 61,500 crore, and achieved module production of 3.24 GW during the quarter, up 41.51 per cent year-on-year. Its 10 GW cell facility at Unn, Gujarat, is on track to begin production this financial year, and the company has acquired a 55 per cent stake in Associated Power Structures to strengthen its power infrastructure capabilities. It has also started automated BESS container manufacturing of 5.15 GWh capacity at Rola, Gujarat.

Traders will also watch a set of cash market names today: ACME Solar Holdings, Bajaj Housing Finance, eMudhra, Quess Corp, Star Health and Allied Insurance, Syngene International, TeamLease Services, MOIL, Piramal Pharma, Zensar Technologies, ADF Foods, Aequs, Karnataka Bank, Triveni Engineering and Industries, JK Lakshmi Cement, OnEMI Technology Solutions (Kissht), MTAR Technologies, Chalet Hotels, Hexaware Technologies, Redington, Vedanta’s demerged entities (Power, Iron and Steel, Oil and Gas), and Balkrishna Industries.

Astral has decided to withdraw its proposed chemical business demerger scheme. An independent consultant, engaged to review the demerger and other restructuring options, advised against proceeding with the scheme in the current environment, noting it could be reconsidered in future once financial strength improves. The company said the scheme is not in the interest of the company and shareholders at this stage.

Brigade Enterprises has acquired 2 acres of land on Kanakapura Road in South Bengaluru, with an estimated gross development value of around Rs 400 crore.
