Smart Glasses, AI Pendant And More: What Apple Plans To Launch For Buyers
Apple has a big March 2026 event lineup in New York but the company is also focused on developing its smart range which is expected to include smart glasses and other devices. Apple is said to be working on not just one but three gadgets in that vein, and one of them will be the AirPods with camera that we have heard about before.
All these launches will be based on how Apple’s next Siri AI iteration performs and hopefully it does better than the original model thanks to Google’s custom AI input. Smart glasses have sort of become Apple CEO Tim Cook’s latest obsession and he wants to not only compete with Meta but also offer a better product in the market.
More AI Devices In The Pipeline
The report from Bloomberg suggests Apple wants to expand way beyond its current ecosystem and bring some unique products to compete in the AI arena. One of them will be an AI pendant which reminds us of the Humane AI Pin that was recently launched and the company winding up less than 24 months from its overall development, sold to HP for scraps.
This pendant is said to have a camera that will be relaying the data to Siri on the iPhone and process the information. Ideally it should have a microphone as well but the report says Apple is still working out the final details for the product. Out of the three devices, this one is in the early development stage, so it could even be cancelled.
What we could see launch first are the AirPods model with camera. The idea about AirPods with cameras is not completely novel.
According to MacRumor, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple supply chain expert, had stated in a blog post last year that the Cupertino-based tech company could mass-produce redesigned AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026. Siri is once again going to be at the forefront of this product and its use case.
The analyst also suggested the infrared cameras may also make it possible for in-air gesture control to be implemented, which would enable hand gestures to interface with devices. The 2026 or 2027 release of the redesigned AirPods with infrared cameras is possible if the production schedule for 2026 proceeds as anticipated.
