The Bigg Boss 19 grand finale, expected to be a night of celebration and high-voltage entertainment, took an unexpectedly emotional turn when host Salman Khan broke down on stage. The show paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in Indian cinema. As Dharmendra's timeless moments played across the screen, Salman—his voice quivering, his eyes welling up—struggled to articulate the depth of his grief.
Visibly moved, Salman said, “We lost our he man. Our most amazing man, Dharmendra ji. I don't think Dharam ji se better koi aadmi hai. Aur jo unhone life ji hai, king size ji hai, dil khol ke ji hai and 60 saal entertainment diya, Sunny, Bobby diya. And sabse achchi baat hai jab se unhone industry join ki aur abhi tak, bas kaam karna hai. Unhone har tarah ka role kia hai—comedy, action. My career graph has always followed Dharmendra ji. Woh charming aur innocent character leke aaye the He-Man ke body mein and unhone humme kaafi entertain kia. We would miss him always. Love you Dharam Paji."
The auditorium fell into silence as Salman paused repeatedly, visibly overwhelmed. The emotional weight of the tribute reflected the love fans across India have been pouring onto social media since the actor's demise.
Salman then added that this was the first time he had seen such extraordinary public affection for Dharmendra online. Overcome by emotion, he said, “The main thing is… he died on 24 November, that's my father's birthday, and tomorrow is his birthday, as well as my mum's. If I'm feeling like this, imagine what Sunny and his family must be going through."
Struggling to compose himself, Salman continued, “There were two funerals conducted with utmost dignity: Sooraj Barjatya's mother's and Dharmji's. They held his prayer meet with so much grace and honour. Everyone was crying, but there was a decorum — a celebration of life. Hats off to Bobby and Sunny. Every funeral and prayer meeting should be conducted this beautifully."
Dharmendra's Final Days: A Legend Bids Farewell
Dharmendra, the beloved “He-Man" of Indian cinema, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. He had been undergoing treatment for age-related health complications, and despite initial signs of improvement, his condition declined rapidly. His family—including sons Sunny and Bobby Deol—remained by his side during his final hours.
One of the most adored stars of Hindi cinema, Dharmendra leaves behind a monumental legacy spanning over six decades.
