Rajesh Khanna Skipped Shoot When Rajat Bedi’s Father Worked With Amitabh Bachchan: 'He Closed The Films'

Actor Rajat Bedi, who recently made his comeback with Aryan Khan's show The Ba**ds of Bollywood, has spoken about a difficult chapter in his life — the downfall of his late father, filmmaker Narendra Bedi, and how the famous rivalry between Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan affected his family deeply.

When Rivalry Turned Costly

According to Rajat, his father's relationship with superstar Rajesh Khanna soured after he began collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan. In the golden era of Bollywood, few rivalries were as talked about as the one between Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. “My dad was also facing issues with Rajesh Khanna. He had started 2–3 films with him, and Rajesh Khanna felt bad that my father was engaging with Amitabh Bachchan and doing projects with him," he revealed.

He added, “My father had taken the unit to Pune for one or two films and was waiting for Rajesh Khanna to come. For 10 to 15 days, Rajesh Khanna didn't come, and my father just closed the projects. I guess heroes at that time were problematic or something."

Rajat Bedi Confirms The Ba***ds of Bollywood 2

Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Rajat Bedi confirmed that The Ba***ds of Bollywood 2 is happening. “Yes, season two is happening. It's in the works. I'm hopeful that audiences are going to see more of me in the second season," he tells us.

Overwhelmed with how his phone hasn't stopped ringing and the love that he has been receiving ever since The Ba***ds Of Bollywood dropped on Netflix, Rajat says, “It's unbelievable! Not just me but my whole family – my son, my daughter, my wife – too feels like god gave us everything together all at once."

Rajat Bedi Salary For The Ba***ds of Bollywood

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Rajat Bedi was asked how much he was paid for The Ba***ds of Bollywood. He replied, “Very happy. I would say one of the best companies in the industry to work with. Very generous, very much paying on time, and they make you feel like a superstar on set. Every person. Unki company ke saath kaam karna is like working with a Yash Raj or Filmkraft. Shah Rukh Khan himself is an actor. He understands what an actor wants, what a technician wants. At the end of the day, we are all working for love and respect. Money is a criteria, of course. But its love and respect. That's at the highest priority on the set in Red Chillies," he said.
