Kantara Chapter 1: How Much Is Rishab Shetty Charging? Actor's Fees For Film REVEALED
Rishab Shetty is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited movie, Kantara Chapter 1. The actor is not only playing the lead in the movie but is also directing it. Therefore, do you know how much Shetty is charging for this project?
If a report by Siasat.com it to be believed, Rishab Shetty has not taken a single rupee as payment for either his acting or his direction in Kantara Chapter 1. Instead, he has opted for a profit-sharing method. This means that Rishab's earnings from the film will completely depend on the box office performance of the movie.
It should be noted that Kantara Chapter 1 is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 125 crore and Shetty is also said to have invested a particular sum in it.
During the recent trailer launch of his movie, Rishab Shetty opened up about dual challenge of starring and directing Kantara Chapter 2. “In some action sequences I was performing, and at the same time, in the background, there were issues," he recalled. “Immediately, I would grab the mic, go to a height and talk to the artists. It used to switch immediately between actor and director. But the character I play is also like that — so it felt organic," he said.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in the Kadamba period in Karnataka. The Kadambas were significant rulers of parts of Karnataka and played a major role in shaping the architecture and culture of the region. That period was known to be a Golden Period of Indian History.
It was in 2023 that Shetty announced that what the audiences saw was actually part 2 and therefore what will be released next will be Kantara's prequel. “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year," he had said.
Kantara: Chapter 1 will hit theatres on October 2, 2025.
