CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Release LIVE

CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Release LIVE: When Is CBSE 12th Result Coming Out? Expected Date And Time, How To Check Marksheet On cbseresults.nic.in
CBSE Board Class 12 Result 2026 Date Time Live: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) usually announces Class 12 results in the second or third week of May. This means, the results are expected to be declared between May 10 and May 15. The board will activate the result link on its official websites, results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. Students can also check the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 on the DigiLocker app and website, digilocker.gov.in. It will also be available through SMS facility, IVRS and UMANG apps.
According to CBSE rules, students must score at least 33 per cent in each subject to pass Class 12. Where practical exams are applicable, students must pass both theory and practical components separately. In addition, a grade above ‘E’ in all subjects is compulsory. Students who fail in one or two subjects will be given a chance to appear for compartment exams.
If a student is not satisfied with their marks, they may apply for verification, rechecking, or re-evaluation of their answer sheet. The board will announce the detailed process, important dates, and application guidelines after the declaration of results.
The days of teachers using red pens on physical answer sheets are over; now, answer sheets are digitally scanned and evaluated on computer screens. CBSE is using AI to make its board exam evaluation more accurate, transparent, and faster. Recently, the board has taken major steps towards adopting on-screen marking (OSM) and AI-based systems.
According to CBSE rules, to pass class 12, students need to get at least 33% marks separately in both theory and practical.
Step 1 – Download and install the UMANG app from the Play Store or App Store.
Step 2 – Navigate to the ‘Services’ section and tap on ‘CBSE’.
Step 3 – Log in using your registered mobile number via OTP or MPIN.
Step 4 – Enter your credentials such as registration number and other required details.
Step 5 – Submit the information – your CBSE Class 12 result will be displayed on the screen.
One of the most important aspects of preparing the CBSE board marksheet is understanding the ‘moderation policy’. For example, if Set 1 of the Physics paper is slightly more difficult and Set 2 is easier, the board applies this policy. Under the ‘moderation policy’, marks are slightly adjusted to balance the difficulty level between different sets, ensuring that students who attempted a more difficult set are not at a disadvantage.
IVRS or Interactive Voice Response System is an automated telephony technology that allows users to interact over the phone. When you call the CBSE-designated number, a recorded voice will ask for details such as your roll number. Unlike DigiLocker or Umang, which usually require an app or data connection, IVRS does not need internet access. To check the CBSE 12th Result 2026 through IVRS, follow these steps:
— Call the official IVRS number issued by CBSE (for example, 24300699 for Delhi). For other regions, add the appropriate city code before the number.
— After the call connects, you may be asked to select your preferred language, such as Hindi or English.
— Follow the voice prompts and enter your roll number, school code, and date of birth (if requested) using your phone keypad.
— Once your details are verified, the system will announce your subject-wise marks. Make sure you note them down.

JEE Advanced 2026 is scheduled for May 17. Successful JEE Main candidates will also be competing for admission to engineering colleges. It is crucial to understand that the future of engineering is not limited to computer science alone; it is driven by specialisation. The biggest challenge for aspirants is choosing the right engineering college and course that will remain in demand in the future. Students must learn how to verify engineering colleges and assess which ones will still be relevant by 2030-31, and which engineering courses offer the highest salaries and long-term stability.
If you don’t pass the CBSE 12th exam, don’t panic. CBSE provides several options so you don’t have to lose a year:
Compartment exams: If you fail in one or two subjects, you can appear for supplementary or compartment exams. These are usually conducted in July, and the results are declared by August, so you can still apply for college in the same year.
Improvement exam: If you have passed but are not satisfied with your marks, you can take an improvement exam in the same year or the next year to improve your scores in specific subjects.
NIOS (Open Board): If you don’t want to retake the CBSE exam, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a good alternative. They also offer on-demand exams.
1. Visit the official website – results.cbse.nic.in.
2. Click on the ‘CBSE Class 12th Result 2026’ link.
3. Enter the login credentials. Hit submit.
4. Your result will be displayed on the screen.
5. Download and save your marksheet for future reference.
The CBSE website often crashes soon after the 12th results are announced, but there is no need to panic. Besides the CBSE board website, you can access your official results through several other options:
DigiLocker: Students can download their digital marksheet and migration certificate from DigiLocker.
UMANG App: You can check your CBSE 12th results by entering your roll number on the government’s UMANG app.
SMS & IVRS: If you do not have internet access, you can obtain your marks through the helpline number or SMS code issued by the board.
The board will activate the CBSE 12th result link on its official websites, results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.
The CBSE 12th Result 2026 is expected to be released soon, likely in the second or third week of May on cbse.gov.in.
