Cab Driver Refuses To Go Beyond Drop Off Location, Woman Passenger Misbehaves And Leaves Without Payment
A heated argument broke out between a cab driver and a woman over the drop-off point. The dispute began when the woman threatened to leave without paying, while the driver insisted he would not go beyond the location set in the ride-hailing app.
The confrontation, captured on the car's dashcam, was later shared online, where it quickly gained traction and sparked debate among social media users over who was at fault.
Dispute Over The Drop-Off Point
The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the driver refusing to go beyond the app-specified drop-off. The woman said, “Main bhi bina payment ke nikal jaungi (I will also get out without paying)."
The driver replied, “Aap bina payment ke nikal jayenge? Jaaiye (You will leave without paying? Okay, go)."
She then asked why he couldn't drop her “inside," to which he responded, “Kyun jaun main andar jab location yahan ki hai (Why should I drop you inside when this is the drop-off location)." He told her she could complain if she wanted, but would not drive past the designated point.
“Mujhe koi dikkat nahi hai. Ma'am Rs 132 se na toh aap ameer ban jaa rahe, na main ban ja raha. Uski tension mat lo (I don't have a problem with you not paying. Rs 132 won't make me rich and it won't make you rich either. Don't worry about it)," he continued.
Escalation Over Language
The woman insisted that other drivers normally drop off passengers inside. She even said, “Pata nahi kis manhoos ghadi mein teri cab book kari (Don't know under what circumstances, I booked your cab)" which appeared to further anger the driver.
This prompted the driver to respond, “Main aapke paise nahi kha raha hu, aap tameez se baat kijiye…Maine aapse ‘tu' karke baat kari hai? toh fir aap kyu bol rahi ho? Aap mere ko paise nahi de rahe ho haram ke. Main aapko yaha lekar aaya isiliye aap paise doge. Aapko paise nahi dena toh aap utar jao" (I am not taking your money without reason, please speak politely…Did I spoke to you using ‘tu' (informal you in Hindi language)? so why are you using it with me? You are refusing to pay me. I brought you here, so you will pay. If you don't want to pay, then you can get off)."
Eventually, the woman left without paying.

Opinions Pour In Over The Dispute
The video quickly went viral, sparking a flood of reactions and divided opinions online.
A user, supporting the driver, wrote, “Driver is right. When the drop-off location was given where he brought her, why should she force him to drop her somewhere else?"
Another criticised the woman, saying, “Refusing to pay after using the service isn't ‘smartness,' it's pure arrogance. Shame on such entitled behaviour."
“It's not about the money, it's about respect. If a driver clearly sets the boundary of where he can drop you, you either accept or decline. Taking the ride and refusing to pay is just wrong," someone pointed out.
“More context: that was the destination and drop point selected by the passenger while selecting the trip. She is wrong, not him. Doing a favour is up to him," read another comment.
Calls For Flexibility And Respectful Dialogue
Some users argued that drivers could show flexibility in certain situations.
An individual said, “Sometimes the map doesn't show the correct location. If the user isn't asking to be dropped too far from the location, then the driver should not refuse. Sometimes the price also changes when you change the location. Just because you have a camera doesn't mean you should be extra rude."
“We should always maintain a good dialogue with drivers if we need them to drop us off, where we may need to walk and drag our luggage for 200-300 metres. Always be friendly with the drivers. After all, they are helping us," a viewer suggested.
Another Fare Dispute
A similar incident occurred in May involving three women and a cab driver. The women, who had booked a ride from Patparganj to Maruti Vihar, reportedly refused to pay the fare after getting off the cab before reaching their destination.
The women stopped the cab midway, and when the driver asked for the fare for the distance already travelled, a dispute broke out. One of the women insisted on not paying and even demanded that the driver cancel the ride.
