‘All This Hassle For 25K Per Month’: Noida CEO Makes Candidate Wait For 8 Hours, Insults Him During Interview
If you think your job hunt is tough, imagine clearing four technical rounds only to be told your interview is over before it even began. A software developer in Noida recently shared his “Red Flag" experience at a local software firm, and it’s serving as a cautionary tale for the entire tech community.
In a post shared on Reddit, the candidate wrote how the day began at 11 AM with nearly 100 hopefuls vying for a Software Development Engineer role. After a Group Discussion, two technical rounds, and an HR interview, the author was one of the elite six survivors. “Out of around 100 candidates, only about 6 were selected for the CEO round. But that’s when the waiting started," the techie shared. By the time the CEO emerged at 6.45 PM, the exhaustion in the room was palpable.
“We thought we were close to the end.
But that’s when the waiting started.
4 PM passed… then 5… then 6.
No clear updates. No proper communication.
Candidates slowly started leaving. Some got tired, some had other commitments, and some just gave up waiting," they wrote.
‘Ye Kya Hai?’
When he finally faced the CEO, the interaction lasted mere seconds. The CEO glanced at the resume and allegedly remarked, “Ye kya hai? isme to kuch dikh bhi nahi raha. (What is this? I can’t even see anything in it.)" Despite the candidate’s calm assurance that it was readable, the CEO abruptly ended the session: “Hogya tumhara interview (Your interview is over)."
The real shocker came later when the details of the “opportunity" were revealed:
“Later, I thought about the offer itself:
– 3 LPA CTC
– ₹15,000/month during 6 months training
– 2.5-year bond
– ₹1.5 lakh penalty
– Requirement to submit original documents"
The Reddit community didn’t hold back. “All this hassle for Rs 25k per month," one user wrote, while another pointed out the irony: “When you see five rounds, Rs 3 LPA and a bond, you should have taken the hint and stayed at home."
There was a common consensus among people who commented on the post. The techie didn’t lose a job; he dodged a bullet. As he poignantly concluded, “Interviews are a two-way process… Sometimes the real win is walking away with your self-respect intact."
