A young girl from a small village in Madhya Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming a Block Development Officer in the state's Panchayat and Rural Development Department after clearing the 2023 MPPSC exam. Bharti Dhakad's journey is a testament to resilience, strong family support, and unwavering self-belief.
Born in Khandi village in Shivpuri district, Bharti Dhakad's father is a sub-engineer, and her mother is a homemaker. She earned a BE in Computer Science from Gwalior, where her interest in technology grew, but her dream was always to join the civil services.
Bharti Dhakad moved to Delhi for coaching but soon shifted to an Indore hostel, dedicating herself to studying General Knowledge, maps, and current affairs from morning till night.
Bharti began her MPPSC preparation in 2017, clearing Prelims and Mains on her first attempt and reaching the Interview stage. However, her first Interview in 2018 was unsuccessful. She faced failures in 2019 and 2020, and in 2021, she did not qualify for Mains. Although she reached the Interview stage again in 2022, she was not selected.
Finally, after eight years of hard work, she succeeded in the 2023 MPPSC exam. Despite these setbacks, she never lost hope, encouraged by her family's unwavering support.
Her parents instilled in her the belief that girls need to be strong and self-reliant, providing her with the courage to persist. Bharti's journey was marked by moments of frustration and tears, but each failure taught her valuable lessons. She scored 702.50 marks in Mains and 124 marks in the Interview out of 826, earning her the position of Block Development Officer.
On November 8, 2025, when the MPPSC announced the final results for 2023, Bharti's name was among the 197 selected candidates, a moment she found more surprising than joyous. Many were chosen for prominent roles like Deputy Collector and DSP. Bharti's story is an inspiration to countless students preparing for similar exams, reminding them that success requires patience and perseverance.
