Divyanshu Singh elevated to CEO of JSW Sports
JSW Sports has appointed Divyanshu Singh as CEO, succeeding Mustafa Ghouse, who will now focus on Centre Court Capital. Singh, previously COO, has been with JSW Sports since 2017, contributing significantly to commercial growth and the Inspire Institute of Sport. He aims to further establish JSW Sports as a market leader, leveraging his extensive experience in the sports industry.
JSW Sports has elevated Divyanshu Singh as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Mustafa Ghouse, who has stepped down to focus on Centre Court Capital, a venture capital fund investing in sports technology and gaming. Ghouse, however, will continue to be associated with JSW Sports as a Director, providing strategic inputs.
Singh, who joined JSW Sports in 2017, has been instrumental in driving the company's commercial growth across its franchises — Bengaluru FC, Haryana Steelers, Soorma Hockey Club, Pretoria Capitals and Delhi Capitals. He also played a key role in scaling the Inspire Institute of Sport into one of India's largest CSR-funded Olympic training programs and in establishing an independent agency vertical that has doubled in revenue since inception.
In 2021, Singh took charge of the Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League, leading the team to a runner-up finish and a championship title in successive seasons. By 2023, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing company-wide operations.
Announcing his elevation, Parth Jindal, Founder of JSW Sports, said, “Divyanshu has been a part of the JSW family for eight years and has grown into the role. I have complete confidence that under his leadership and vision, JSW Sports will keep pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in Indian sport. Mustafa and I built JSW Sports together from 2012, and while he embarks on his new journey, he will remain an integral part of our growth story.”
Reflecting on his appointment, Singh said, “The last eight years at JSW Sports have been the best of my professional career. We have been part of historical moments on and off the pitch, with a single vision of creating a positive impact in Indian sport. My vision is to build on this legacy and establish JSW Sports as a market leader with a wider lens on sport, going beyond just the spectator market.”
Singh brings over three decades of experience in the sports industry. A former professional tennis player who achieved a career-high rank of 24 in India, he also played club tennis in Spain before transitioning into coaching and later sports management roles at Cornerstone Sports and Entertainment, and IMG-Reliance. An MBA graduate from the Indian School of Business, Singh has further honed his expertise in sports management and leadership at institutions including Leipzig University, Loughborough University, and the University of Cambridge.
On the personal front, Singh continues to pursue his passion for fitness, completing the Ironman 70.3 in 2025.
JSW Sports, the sports arm of the $24 billion JSW Group, owns and manages multiple franchises including Bengaluru FC, Delhi Capitals, Haryana Steelers, and Pretoria Capitals. It also runs a talent management vertical representing athletes such as cricketers Axar Patel and Jemimah Rodrigues, along with Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra. Through the Inspire Institute of Sport, it supports the training of more than 40 Indian Olympic prospects.
