Dipika Kakar has opened up about a fresh health setback, revealing that the recurrence of a cyst has left her emotionally shaken and struggling to maintain her daily routine.
The actor, who has been undergoing treatment for liver cancer, recently had to undergo another procedure after a 1.3 cm cyst reappeared near her liver. The unexpected recurrence has been both physically and emotionally overwhelming, especially as she navigates recovery alongside ongoing treatment decisions.
‘It Has Changed My Routine and Priorities’
In a candid vlog, Dipika shared how the illness has disrupted her everyday life. Fatigue, frequent hospital visits, and uncertainty around treatment have made it difficult for her to maintain a normal routine.
She admitted that there are days when exhaustion takes over completely. “On the days I am fatigued, I just sleep," she shared, explaining how her body now demands rest in ways it didn’t before.
This shift, she noted, has altered not just her schedule but also her priorities, forcing her to slow down and focus on recovery.
‘I Cannot Be With My Son’
Perhaps the most emotional part of her update was how her health has impacted her role as a mother.
Dipika spoke about her inability to spend enough time with her young son, Ruhaan, especially during hospital stays. “If I am in the hospital, I cannot be with him," she said, adding that the distance has been particularly difficult to process.
She also shared that even at home, fatigue sometimes prevents her from being as present as she would like to be, making this phase emotionally challenging for her as a parent.
A Setback That ‘Shook’ Her
The recurrence itself has been deeply unsettling. Dipika described feeling anxious and scared, especially because she did not expect the issue to return so quickly.
Calling the experience overwhelming, she said the situation has left her questioning why it happened despite taking precautions and following a disciplined routine.
At the same time, she emphasised the importance of staying strong and positive while navigating illness, even when uncertainty feels difficult to manage.
Balancing Strength and Vulnerability
While the health scare has been tough, Dipika also reflected on the resilience women show while managing multiple roles and physical challenges.
She spoke about how women continue to function through hormonal changes, emotional stress, and health issues, often without pause highlighting a strength that is rarely acknowledged.
What Lies Ahead
Dipika is currently undergoing further tests as doctors evaluate the next course of treatment. While the road ahead remains uncertain, she has expressed hope and determination to recover fully.
Her candid update offers a glimpse into the emotional realities of dealing with chronic illness, not just as a patient, but as a mother and a working professional trying to hold life together.
