Digital Life Certificate Rejected? Here’s How To Fix Your Jeevan Pramaan And Avoid Pension Delay
Jeevan Pramaan Last Date: Pensioners must submit their life certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan, on or before November 30 to ensure uninterrupted pension payments. Jeevan Pramaan (Digital Life Certificate) is a biometric-enabled Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate for pensioners.
Every year, pensioners are required to submit a ‘Jeevan Pramaan' or life certificate before banks, post offices or any pension disbursing agencies to prove that they are alive. Pensions will be credited into their account once they authenticate themselves via Jeevan Pramaan.
If your Digital Life Certificate (DLC) or Jeevan Pramaan gets rejected, you can fix the problem. It happens to many pensioners during the annual verification rush. Most of the time, the problem is small and easy to fix, and your pension won't be affected once you correct it.
Rejections usually happen because of wrong details like an incorrect Aadhaar number, PPO number, or pension account, or due to failed biometric authentication if the fingerprint or iris scan wasn't clear. That's why the first thing you should do after getting a rejection SMS is to contact your Pension Disbursing Agency (your bank or post office) and ask them the exact reason.
Once you know what went wrong, you can submit the DLC again. Correct the wrong details if that was the issue, or redo the biometric scan — preferably at a centre with a good device. After generating a fresh Jeevan Pramaan ID, confirm with your bank that they've received it to ensure your pension continues smoothly.
1. Check the rejection message
The SMS you receive usually means one of two things:
Wrong details were entered (Aadhaar, PPO number, bank account, etc.)
Biometric authentication failed due to unclear fingerprint or iris scan
2. Contact your Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA)
Your bank or post office can tell you the exact reason for rejection. This saves you from guessing and wasting time.
3. Correct the details
If the issue is incorrect Aadhaar, PPO number, or pension account details, update them and try again.
4. Re-authenticate your biometrics
If the biometric scan failed:
5. Generate a fresh Jeevan Pramaan
Once the problem is fixed, submit the DLC again to get a new Jeevan Pramaan ID.
6. Confirm that your bank has received it
Always check with your PDA to make sure the updated DLC is successfully processed so your pension isn't delayed.

According to the DoPPW, there are certain prerequisites for acquiring the Jeevan Pramaan life certificate. As a pensioner, you are required to provide your Aadhaar number, name, mobile number and other necessary information like the PPO number, the pension account number, bank details, name of pension sanctioning authority and pension disbursing authority.
To help the pensioner access the scheme, the GOI has made available different modes of submitting the life certificate. Depending on their convenience, pensioners can submit the annual Jeevan Pramaan manually or digitally.
