The race for the biggest Indian blockbuster of the year just got tighter. While most films slow down by week four, Dhurandhar has done the opposite. On Day 24, the Ranveer Singh-led action thriller crossed a massive global milestone, rewriting box office rankings and pushing past some of the biggest modern hits.
With its latest numbers, Dhurandhar has officially entered elite territory.
Day 24 puts Dhurandhar in all-time top 7
On its fourth Sunday, December 28, Dhurandhar crossed Rs 1,064 crore worldwide, overtaking the lifetime collections of Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD. This achievement makes it the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film in history. The film earned over Rs 30 crore worldwide on Sunday alone, powered by strong footfalls in India and a solid overseas performance during the Christmas holiday window.
Fourth weekend delivers another big push
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has shown rare consistency. After record-breaking second and third weeks, the film added another Rs 62 crore globally in its fourth weekend, proving that audience interest remains strong even after three weeks in theatres. At the Indian box office, the film has now collected Rs 690.25 crore net, translating to a gross of Rs 828.25 crore. Trade tracking suggests the film is on course to cross Rs 700 crore net in India in the coming days, a milestone achieved by only a handful of Hindi films.
Overseas numbers strengthen the run
International markets have played a key role in Dhurandhar's historic performance. The film has earned over $26 million overseas, pushing its global total well beyond the Rs 1,000-crore mark.
This strong overseas response has helped Dhurandhar leapfrog major titles and establish itself among the most successful Indian releases worldwide.
Story and performances driving word of mouth
Dhurandhar follows the high-risk mission of an Indian operative sent deep into Karachi's criminal and terror networks. Ranveer Singh stars as Hamza, delivering one of the most intense performances of his career.
The film also features a powerful supporting cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan, all of whom have been widely praised. With only Dangal, Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 still ahead on the all-time list, industry watchers are closely tracking how far Dhurandhar can go. For now, it stands as one of the defining box office stories of the year.
A sequel, Dhurandhar: Part 2, is already in development and is expected to release in March 2026. Given the current momentum, the franchise's future looks firmly locked in.
