‘Dhurandhar’ Fans In Lucknow Go Wild As Sanjay Dutt Joins After ‘Free’ Screening By BJP MLA
During the festive season, the residents of the Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency in Lucknow received a very special gift. BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh booked an entire cinema hall at Phoenix United Mall for a special screening of Aditya Dhar-directed Dhurandhar. The film, which was released in theatres on December 5, has been receiving love for its storyline, cast's performance, and the soundtrack. Over 450 youngsters from the constituency watched the film for free.
The surprise did not end there. After the film ended, Singh decided to call up Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who joined the special screening through a video call. As seen in a video widely circulating on social media, the BJP MLA held his phone as the credits rolled out and told the moviegoers that the legendary actor was on a call with him. He asked the people of his constituency to say hello to him.
BJP MLA Praises Sanjay Dutt For His Acting In Dhurandhar
Everyone then got up from their seats and greeted Dutt in union. Singh then informed the actor that young people from his constituency were on the other side of the call. The Dhurandhar actor then acknowledged everyone's presence and expressed his delight. When the MLA praised him for his impeccable acting in the spy-action thriller, Dutt was beyond grateful and thanked them.
Some people even invited the actor to Lucknow, and the crowd began loudly cheering for Dutt, shouting, “Sanju baba zindabad." Further, Singh added, “Bohot hi acchi acting ki, aur bacchon ne bohot hi enjoy kiya (You acted so well in the film, the kids enjoyed it very much)." He shared that people who watched the film realised how difficult it is to spy and what all goes on in the intelligence agencies during various secret missions.
He then acknowledged Dutt's contribution to Indian cinema, highlighting how he has continued to entertain audiences for more than 40 years, and asked him to visit Lucknow soon. FYI, Dutt plays the role of SSP Chaudhary Aslam, a character inspired by Pakistan's famed encounter specialist Chaudhary Aslam Khan, who created the Lyari Task Force. He was the one who captured or neutralised major gang leaders such as Rehman Dacoit and Uzair Baloch, and became a target of Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

The crowd further chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai", “Pakistan Murdabad", and “Vande Mataram" inside the theatre while the video call with the actor continued.
