Dhoni's Movie Debut Loading? Action-Packed Teaser With Madhavan Sparks Speculations: Watch
Is MS Dhoni gearing up for his debut in Indian cinema? Well, a newly-launched video clip suggests so. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has surprised fans by appearing in a teaser for a new action-packed project, which seems like an upcoming film, called ‘The Chase'—alongside Dhoni, appeared movie star R Madhavan.
In the teaser, both are dressed like task force officers—sporting black uniforms, sunglasses, and carrying guns—looking ready for a high-stakes mission. Madhavan shared the teaser on Instagram with the caption:
“One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up – a wild, explosive chase begins. The Chase – teaser out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon."

The teaser has sent the fans into a frenzy. While they are excited to see Dhoni on the silver screen, they are also confused whether this is a movie, a web series, or maybe even an advertisement.
Dhoni has acted in ads before and made a cameo in a Tamil film, but this looks like his most prominent on-screen role yet. People online are loving the teaser, calling Dhoni a “hero" and saying it's “Thala for a reason."

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army. He received this title from the Indian Army in 2011.
As for cricket, Dhoni is currently not playing. His last match was in May 2025, when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Although Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020, he still plays in the Indian Premier League. In the last season, CSK kept him in the team as an uncapped player, paying him ₹4 crore.
