One day I took Azad with me, you know, my son. I said I want you to meet someone because Azad has not seen his work really. At the 56th IFFI in Goa, Aamir Khan paid tribute to Dharmendra and shared, “Well, I've grown up watching him and I mean he was known as the action hero and the he-man And of course he was extremely good, you know, portraying these strong characters in action films. He was very good at that. But I think people have, I don't know whether people have really noticed, I think he is underrated. His performances in romance or different genres, he's done so well. He does amazing comedy, he does amazing romance, you know, dramas. So according to me, Dharamji was right up there as one of the finest actors that we have. So, I've really looked up to him always.”

As reported by India.com, Dharmendra owned several properties worth over Rs 17 crore in Maharashtra. Reportedly, he has also invested in both agricultural and non-agricultural land valued at Rs 88 lakh and Rs 52 lakh, respectively. He also owns a luxurious 100-acre farmhouse in Lonavala.

I think he was the most wonderful man, one of the finest ever. That place will never be filled by anybody else. I'm sure we will have other actors who are good, but there will be no Dharmendra again. He was absolutely magnificent — both as a human being and as an actor,” he said.

Recently, Ajit Pawar, along with former CIDCO chairman Pramod Hindurao, also visited Hema Malini at her residence following the death of her actor-husband, Dharmendra. During their meeting, they spoke about the veteran actor's remarkable contribution to Indian cinema.
