Dharmendra Pradhan, Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0; Check Details

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 has begun today, December 2, 2025 in Kashi. The event has been inaugurated by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This significant edition aims to revive the enduring cultural, spiritual, and civilisational connection between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.

The theme for 2025 is “Learn Tamil – Tamil Karkalam", aiming to promote Tamil learning across India and foster appreciation for India's classical linguistic and literary heritage.

The inaugural event will feature notable guests including Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Sh. K. Kailashnathan, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak, and Union Minister of State L. Murugan. Under the theme “Tamil Karkalam – Learn Tamil," #KTS4.0 unites various Union ministries, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, IIT Madras, and IIT BHU to foster cultural understanding, linguistic appreciation, and academic exchange.

Over 1,400 delegates from Tamil Nadu will partake in an engaging 8-day journey through Kashi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. They will explore universities, heritage sites, craft clusters, temples, and knowledge institutions while interacting with students, scholars, and local communities. Students, teachers, writers and media professionals, agriculture and allied sectors, professionals and artisans, women, and spiritual scholars and practitioners will take part in the event.

Delegates will visit Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya, with interactions, seminars, cultural performances, and exposure to local cuisine, handicrafts, and heritage.

They will visit significant Tamil heritage locations in Varanasi, such as the ancestral house of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharatiyar, Kedar Ghat, the Kasi Madam in the “Little Tamil Nadu" area, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and Mata Annapurna Temple. Additionally, they will visit the Tamil Department at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for academic and literary interactions.

Major Initiatives under KTS 4.0 include Sage Agasthya vehicle expedition from Tenkasi to Kashi; teaching Tamil in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh schools; and Tamil learning study tours for students of Uttar Pradesh.
