Delhi Nursery Admissions 2026 Begin Tomorrow, Here’s What Parents Should Know
The Delhi government has issued the complete schedule and guidelines for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 admissions in private schools for the 2026-27 academic session. The admission process officially begins on December 4, and all schools have been instructed to follow the notified deadlines without deviation, as per the latest circular from the Directorate of Education (DoE).
In line with the age alignment introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP), the following ages will be considered as on March 31, 2026:
Children already enrolled in Nursery and KG during 2025-26 will progress automatically to KG and Class 1, respectively.
The DoE has published a detailed admission calendar that includes uploading criteria, availability of forms, publication of applicant lists, query redressal timelines and closure of the process.

If applications exceed available seats, a transparent draw of lots must be conducted either digitally or manually, with the entire process videographed and parents informed at least two days in advance.
As mandated under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education Act, 25% of seats at entry level are reserved for EWS (Economically Weaker Section), DG (Disadvantaged Group), and children with disabilities. Schools must follow these norms strictly as reinforced by earlier court orders.
