'Deeply Concerned': India Calls For Restraint After Israel Strikes Hamas Targets In Qatar
India on Tuesday expressed concern over the latest Israeli airstrikes in Qatar's capital, Doha, and called for actions that could destabilise peace and security in the region.
Responding to reports of the Israeli attack that targeted senior Hamas leaders in Doha, the Ministry of External Affairs in a statement said, “We have seen reports about the Israeli strikes in Doha earlier today. We are deeply concerned by this development and its impact on the security situation in the region."

The MEA also urged all parties to exercise restraint and pursue diplomatic solutions to avoid further escalation.
“We strongly urge restraint and diplomacy, so that peace and security in the region is not endangered," the statement added.
The statement came after Israel confirmed carrying out airstrikes against senior Hamas officials in Doha, a city that has hosted multiple rounds of ceasefire talks aimed at ending the Gaza conflict.
Qatar, a key US ally and mediator in the peace process, condemned the strike, calling it a violation of its sovereignty and stating that the attack targeted the homes of several members of Hamas's political bureau residing in the Gulf country.
The Israeli strike marked a rare military action on Qatari soil, prompting international condemnation from world leaders who denounced it as a breach of international law. Qatar confirmed that a member of its Internal Security Force was killed in the attack, with several other security personnel also injured.
Hamas political bureau member Suhail al-Hindi told Al Jazeera in a televised interview that the group's senior leadership survived the strike. However, Hamas confirmed that five lower-ranking members were killed, including Jihad Labad, Director of Khalil al-Hayya's office; Humam al-Hayya, son of Khalil al-Hayya; and three others.
In Washington, a White House official confirmed that Israel had notified the United States about the airstrike in advance. Notably, President Donald Trump visited Qatar in May, staying at a hotel located roughly two kilometers from the attack site.

The airstrike comes shortly after Hamas' armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for a shooting at a bus stop on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Monday, which left six people dead.
