Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal took the top rank in Hurun India's Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2025, overtaking Radhakishan Damani of Avenue Supermarts (Dmart). Eternal had a valuation of Rs 3.2 lakh crore, up 27% from last year, while Avenue Supermarts' valuation declined 13% to Rs 3 lakh crore.
Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal of InterGlobe Aviation (Indigo) made their debut, entering the top 3 with their company's valuation at Rs 2.2 lakh crore.
Harshil Mathur & Shashank Kumar (Razorpay), Nithin Kamath & Nikhil Kamath (Zerodha) and Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth (Dream 11) dropped out of the top 10 from last year. Consumer tech brand Lenskart's founder Peyush Bansal was ranked 10th. Founded in 2008, the company went public this year at a valuation of Rs 70,236 crore (around $8.4 billion). According to the report, Lenskart's valuation has increased 60% from last year.
Agencies “Even entry into the top 200 has become tougher, the threshold has risen 1.5 times, from about Rs 3,000 crore to nearly Rs 4,500 crore. What once took decades to achieve is now being reached in 10–15 years,” said Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher, Hurun India.
The third edition of Hurun India's Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs , with IDFC First Bank captures the scale of wealth being built by India's post-2000 founders, featuring 200 of the country's most valuable young companies. Together, these companies are valued at Rs 42 lakh crore ($469 billion), up 15% from last year.
The upper ranks of the list include founders across healthcare, food delivery, travel, insurance, fintech and beauty.
“Founders today no longer make just a business pitch. They make a problem-solving pitch, identifying real pain points and building companies to solve them, which in turn helps create new markets rather than only scaling existing ones," said Vikas Sharma, Head, Wealth Management & Private Banking, IDFC First Bank at the launch event of the list.
According to the list, Bengaluru continues to lead as India's top startup hub with 52 companies, followed by Mumbai with 41 and Gurugram with 36.
The rankings also reflect a wide age gap, from Zepto founders Kaivalya Vohra at 22 and Aadit Palicha at 23 to veteran entrepreneur Ashok Soota of Happiest Minds Technologies at 82. Collectively, the 200 companies employ around 8 lakh people.
