Conservative 1776 Project PAC targets teachers who hailed Charlie Kirk’s death
Charlie Kirk's untimely demise left the entire nation in dismay, but a conservative education reform group, the 1776 Project PAC, said it has received more than 100 reports of educators celebrating the death of the Turning Point USA founder, Fox News Digital reported.
The PAC, which works towards supporting conservative candidates in school board races, stated that it aims to hold teachers accountable and expose radical behavior in schools. Stefano Forte, executive director of the 1776 Project PAC, told the outlet that the initiative is about “accountability.”
He said the organization wants to make sure that the next generation of students is not taught by radicals. “We have gotten a ton of submissions, and we are sifting through all of them,” Forte said, adding, “There are still submissions coming in.”
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Utah. Since his demise, there have been reports of some educators and administrators celebrating or making insensitive remarks about him, which have sparked public backlash. In contrast, Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, has been praised nationwide for forgiving her husband's suspected killer at his memorial service.
The 1776 Project PAC was founded in 2021 by Ryan Girdusky during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its mission is to reform school boards by supporting conservative candidates.
Forte explained that the PAC focuses on school board races because traditional Republican leaders have often overlooked them. Since April 2025, the PAC has supported more than 350 school board races and has won over 200 seats across the United States.

Forte said the PAC's new initiative, called the Accountability Project, allows anyone to report instances of teachers celebrating Charlie Kirk's death. The goal, he said, is to give parents a clear picture of the beliefs of people teaching their children.
“We do not want to dampen anybody's free speech. We want to accelerate it and give people an even bigger platform so others can know what they truly believe,” Forte said.
According to the PAC, thousands of reports have been received, but only about 100 are expected to be validated after careful review. Forte said the effort is not about silencing teachers but making their views public to students, colleagues, administrators, and school boards.
The 1776 Project PAC has not received a response from Turning Point USA regarding this effort.
