CM Shri Schools Admission Test 2026 starts April 13: Exam Pattern, Dates, Eligibility Explained
The Directorate of Education has announced that admissions to CM Shri Schools in Delhi for 2026-27 will begin on April 13 for Classes 6 and 9, and May 7 for Class 11. The entrance exams will follow an OMR-based pattern.
CM Shri Schools in Delhi will start admissions on April 13 for classes 6 and 9, and on May 7 for class 11, for the academic session 2026-27, as per the Directorate of Education. On Wednesday, the admit cards were issued for the entrance examination. The test for classes 6 and 9 was conducted in the last week of March, while class 11 will have their exams in May, as the DoE said in a public notice issued on Tuesday.
The results for classes 6 and 9 are to be announced on April 30, and the results for class 11 will be announced on May 25. The students who studied in a recognised school in the national capital and are residents of Delhi during the academic year 2025-26 are eligible to apply, as the circular issued by the education department stated.
According to the education department, 50 per cent of the seats are reserved for students who have finished their Class 5, 8, and 10 from Delhi government schools. The remaining seats are open to other eligible applicants who meet the residency and schooling criteria.
The entrance examination consists of objective and OMR-based questions. Class-wise syllabus with details and a sample OMR sheet will also be made available on the department’s website, so that the applicants are familiar with the format.
There will be no deduction in marks, that is, negative marking for the Class 6 exam, but it will be applicable for the tests for Classes 9 and 11. The maximum marks for the Class examination are 300, while the tests for classes, while for class 9 and 11 will be 400 marks.
On February 17, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the programme across 75 government schools in the city and inaugurated a CM Shri School in Sarojini Nagar.
The CM Shri Schools is an initiative of the Delhi government introduced with the aim to provide education with modern infrastructure, updated curriculum and holistic learning practices. The schools are part of efforts to strengthen public education and enhance academic and co-curricular opportunities for students.
