Cloudflare down again? Netizens flood X with complaints

Cloudflare down again

Cloudflare experienced a global outage affecting popular websites like Canva and Downdetector, prompting widespread user complaints on social media platform X. This marks the second major disruption in a month, following a November outage that impacted services including Spotify and ChatGPT.

Users across the globe on Friday reported disruptions on Cloudflare's services, sparking a wave of frustration and complaints on the social media platform X. The outage affected multiple websites, like Canva and tracking website Downdetector, leaving many users unable to access key services for a brief period of time.

Trading platforms Groww and Zerodha were also affected by the outage; however, Zerodha stated that its Kite services have now been fully restored.

"Cloudflare global outage resolved. Kite services have been restored. You can now trade normally. We regret the inconvenience caused," Zeordha stated.

Services restored
Cloudflare issued a statement saying that it has fixed an issue with its dashboard related Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The outage had sent shares down 4.5% in premarket trading.

This was the second outage in nearly a month. In November, Cloudflare experienced a disruption that temporarily impacted a swath of online services – from Spotify to ChatGPT and even President Donald Trump's Truth Social platform.

Cloudflare provides key internet infrastructure, including services that shield websites from cyberattacks and help them stay accessible during high traffic.

Netizens express frustration
Netizens flooded social media with frustration, reporting widespread service disruptions and expressing anger over the repeated outages. Many shared how their work and businesses were impacted, demanding answers and urging the company to fix the issues promptly.

What is Cloudflare?
Cloudflare is a major internet infrastructure company. It helps websites load faster and protects them from cyberattacks. It acts as a middle layer between users and websites. Because so many companies rely on Cloudflare, a problem in its system can cause multiple websites to crash—even if they are unrelated.
