Political commentator Candace Owens has set the internet ablaze after she dropped shocking new claims about Charlie Kirk's assassination case. Owens, former employee of Turning Point USA, faced massive backlash for her latest conspiracy theory around Charlie Kirk's murder. She has insisted the role of Israel lobby in Charlie Kirk's murder and alleged that Kirk sent messages 24 hours before his death, warning he feared for his life.
This time, Owens has suggested that an Egyptian Air Force plane may have been linked to the murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. She is also facing massive backlash for her unverified claims.
Candace Owens on Charlie Kirk's murder

In a series of posts shared Saturday, Owens wrote that an Egyptian Air Force jet, tail number SU-BTT, “flew out of Provo, Utah” on the same day as Kirk's killing. She alleged the aircraft's presence was “no coincidence,” claiming it had earlier visited an “army base in Nebraska” in July and remained in Utah “until just after Charlie was assassinated.”
Owens suggested that the murder might have been part of a “military operation,” writing, “Tyler Robinson must have had some powerful friends! It looks like a decision to murder Charlie Kirk was made around July 18th.” She added that “a military meeting with foreign leaders took place on July 20th on US soil.”
Owens continued “A military meeting with foreign leaders took place on July 20th on U.S soil. The plane flew into Provo direct from France on September 4th and stayed until just after Charlie was assassinated— flying out to Wilmington on that day. The plane returned home to Egypt the following day on September 11th. We now need to reexamine which foreign leaders were in the United States during this approximate time frame, or what happened in the news leading up to this that may have led to someone calling for his murder.”
The podcaster also told a person on X that her posts meant to indicate that Kirk's killing was not a lone shooter situation. “That was sarcasm. Clearly this was not a lone shooter scenario. It was a military operation,” she said on X.

A community note on Owens' original post now clarifies that the plane did indeed depart from Provo on September 10—but at 7 a.m. local time, long before Kirk was shot.
Many suggested that Owens' confusion likely stemmed from mistaking UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) for “Utah time.” “She doesn't know what UTC means and thinks that a 13:08 UTC liftoff time means the plane flew out at 1:08pm Utah time. It does not,” a person said on X. “We all just learned that Candace Owens thought UTC stood for Utah time. Amazing people still take her seriously,” quipped another.
What has Candace Owens said on Kirk's murder?
While Owens hasn't explicitly named anyone, she has promoted several conspiracy theories that directly contradict the conclusions of the official investigation into Kirk's shooting.ALSO READ: Is today a holiday? Check full list of upcoming federal holidays in US
One of these theories reportedly stemmed from a dream in which Charlie Kirk appeared to her and claimed he had been “betrayed.” Even after a misstep regarding time zones, Owens doubled down, posting on X: “Given the artificial boost of the Snopes-like debunking of the Egyptian military flight, it is CLEAR they are panicked about its discovery.” She further attempted to reinforce her theory with a follow-up post, raising additional questions: “Who were the people dropped off when the flight arrived in Provo? How many people were on the manifest for its return flight on 9/10?”
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot when attending an event at the Utah Valley University on September 10. Meanwhile, authorities have arrested and charged Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Utah native, for the murder of Charlie Kirk. Authorities have not said anything about the possibility of anyone else being involved in the incident.
