CBSE CTET 2026 Registration Begins: Check Eligibility Criteria; Steps To Apply
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 session. The application process which began today, November 27 will conclude on December 18. There are two papers. CTET 2025 Paper I is for the recruitment of school teachers for classes 1 to 5, while Paper II is for the recruitment of teachers for classes 6 to 8.
According to the official announcement, CTET 2025 will be held on February 8, 2026 (Sunday) in 20 languages across 132 cities nationwide. Candidates interested and eligible may apply at ctet.nic.in.
Educational Qualification: According to the eligibility criteria established by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), candidates appearing for CTET Paper-1 must have completed 12th grade with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and have either a two-year D.El.Ed or a four-year B.El.Ed course. For Paper-2, candidates are required to have a graduation degree with at least 50 per cent marks and a B.Ed or an equivalent degree.
Age Limit: The minimum age is 18 years. There is no upper age limit.
Step 1 – Visit the official website at ctet.nic.in.
Step 2 – Click on the “Apply Online" link for CTET 2026.
Step 3 – Carefully fill in your personal and educational details in the online form.
Step 4 – Upload a recent scanned photograph and signature in the required format.
Step 5 – Pay the CTET application fee using the available online payment options.
Step 6 – Submit the application form and download a copy for future reference.

The CTET 2026 exam will be held offline (pen and paper-based) with multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates should be aware that passing the CTET does not guarantee a job but makes them eligible to apply for teaching positions in various schools across the country.
The CTET score card is valid for a lifetime. This means that once candidates pass the CTET, they do not need to retake the exam. Previously, its validity was only seven years.
