CBFC clears Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan’s Border 2 with no cuts, suggests minor changes
Border 2, which is slated for a theatrical release on January 23, has recently received its certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the certification process went smoothly, with the CBFC not recommending any cuts to the film's dialogues or action sequences.
However, the board suggested a few minor changes that the makers needed to make. One key change involved the film's credits. The team was told to use the actual name of Fateh Singh for Sunny Deol's character.
Additionally, to follow official guidelines, visuals featuring the Indian national flag on the warplane were replaced wherever they appeared in the film.
Another change involved the name of the warship shown in the film, which was changed to Kavach.
The CBFC also told the makers to increase both the duration and the font size of the information on the screen that details the warriors. As part of the certification process, the production team submitted documents available in the public domain to the members of the CBFC's Examining Committee, as requested.
The board further asked the makers to verify the accuracy of the emblem displayed on the shoulder of the uniform worn by the characters. In response, the producers confirmed that the emblem was indeed accurate, stating that they had cross-checked it with the Indian Army as well as with the family of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya.
Following the completion of all the suggested changes, Border 2 was granted a U/A 13+ certificate. The film has a runtime of 199.07 minutes, translating to 3 hours, 19 minutes and 7 seconds. The war drama is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta's JP Films.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 boasts an ensemble cast that includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. In the film, Sunny Deol will be seen portraying Fateh Singh Kaler, while Varun Dhawan essays the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya.
