Bihar Class 12 Students Harass Women Reporters, Push Them During Exam Coverage: ‘Number Dijiye, Raat Ko Baat Karenge’
A disturbing incident has surfaced from Bihar, where women journalists were allegedly harassed while reporting outside a Class 12 examination centre of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). The reporters had approached students for reactions after their exam when the situation suddenly turned chaotic.
Videos of the incident are now circulating widely on social media. The clips show the journalists speaking to students as they exit the exam centre. In both the clips, a group of male students surrounds them, which leads to pushing, shouting and alleged cat-calling.
Bihar Reporter Surrounded, Pushed By Class 12 Students During Interaction
In one of the videos, the woman reporter is seen interviewing a student when another student from behind hurls abuse. As the situation escalates, several boys crowd around her and invade her personal space and push her while she continues trying to report.
Confronting the behaviour, the journalist is heard saying, “Yahi tareeka hai tum logo ka? Aise hi Bihar badnaam hai. Tum logo ki wajah se (Is this your way of behaving? This is why Bihar gets defamed. Because of people like you)."
She then turns to the camera and says, “Ye bacche hai 12th ke. Ye bhavisye banenge Bihar ke? Dekh sakte hai ye log kis tarah se dhakka-mukki kar rahe hai. Exam ka review lene aate hai toh hum jaise reporter ko idhar chu leta hai toh koi udhar. (These are Class 12 students. Will they become the future of Bihar? You can see how they are pushing. When we come to take exam reviews, someone touches from one side, someone from another)," as students continue to shove around her.

Separate Clip Shows Alleged Cat-Calling
In another video, a different reporter is seen asking a student about how his exam went. He responds inappropriately, saying, “Aap apna number de dije, raat mein bhadiya se baat karenge (Give me your number, I’ll talk properly at night)," which is followed by hooting and shouting from others present there.
The clip also shows students crowding around to create disorder as the reporter tries to continue speaking. When she asked about to one student about his aspirations, he responded with, “Kuch bhi nahi. Kisan banenge (Nothing in particular. Will become a farmer)."

Student 2: We don't want to become anything from this exam, we are happy as farmer.

Internet Expresses Anger
The incidents have triggered strong reactions from social media users.
One user commented, “It’s time we start valuing civic sense as much as marks. What we’re seeing is disgusting. These aren’t serious students; they have no ambition, no discipline, and no respect. Many come to campuses just for timepass, chaos, or distractions, not education. Later, the same people cry poverty and demand freebies funded by honest taxpayers."
Another said, “What is the mindset of these guys. First, they do inappropriate things, and then they smile like this is funny. From where did they learn all this?"
“The boy behind the girl is laughing like he didn’t do anything wrong. WTF!" someone else remarked while a person added, “The faces of those monsters are visible. Bihar police can easily take them down and throw them in jail if everyone tags."
An individual wrote a sharp reply that read, “These people deserve the insults they get and deserve to live in s***."
“Human garbage," “Should have slapped him right there on the face," “So uncivilised. Can’t even behave properly", and “Even apes behave better than these creatures" were some other remarks.
Misbehaviour With Women Reporters In Maharashtra
A similar incident had surfaced in September last year from Maharashtra, where the TV Journalists Association filed a complaint with Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange over allegations that his supporters had engaged in misconduct and misbehaviour with women reporters at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan.
