His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan on Tuesday led a mass prayer for the victims of the Delhi blast at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, where thousands of Bhutanese citizens joined in solidarity.

The ceremony took place as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed on a two-day visit to Bhutan to attend the 70th birthday celebrations of the former monarch, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

Prime Minister Modi was received at Paro Airport by his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay, who posted on X: “I join the entire nation in welcoming my elder brother Prime Minister @narendramodi to Bhutan."

During the visit, Modi will hold talks with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tobgay, and the two sides will jointly inaugurate the 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II hydroelectric project, a major bilateral initiative.

The Prime Minister will also meet the fourth King and attend celebrations marking his 70th birthday.
