Everyone needs breaks during their working hours to improve productivity, reduce stress and prevent burnout. Stepping away for a few minutes from the ‘hustle' gives your brain a chance to reset and perform more efficiently. To manage the stress, several companies offer a range of recreational activities, from digital to physical, that can boost well-being and productivity.
Having said that, a company recently grabbed attention for setting up a PlayStation 5 (PS5) at the office premises for its employees.
PS5 Setup In Office
Taking to Reddit, a user shared a couple of pictures of the PS5 setup in his office, leaving the internet both amused and envious. The console was connected to a large television, and gaming controllers were neatly arranged alongside it. The setting appeared to be a specific area for employees to unwind after work or during breaks.
“Our office just got an upgrade," the post caption read.
The Internet's Reaction Was Worth Seeing
The post was quick to grab the attention of the viewers, with many praising the idea of having a PS5 at the workplace. A Reddit user commented, “Bhot zor se referral lagvana hai, name btao bhaiya." Another one shared, “Aisa bhi hota hai kya?" One of them shared, “All this enthusiasm eventually dies down after the initial few months. We have a PS5 at our office. Earlier, when it was introduced, the room was always occupied and people would just wait for their turns to play. Now it's empty most of the time."
One of them shared, “It's nice you'll have a PlayStation. But to be honest, I like to be in and out of the office as soon as I can. The less time I spend there, the better the day for me. Maybe because I don't have a big team here, nor am I close to many people. So this would be a useless addition if it were in my office."
Some users only demanded basic things. One person wrote, “Just give me leaves on time and let me go home on time. Deserving increments and promotions. I don't want Diwali gifts or anything or any fun party." “Khelte khelte kaam hoga ab," a comment read. Someone added, “Bhot zor se referral lagvana hai."
Earlier this year, a Hyderabad-based tech start-up hired a golden retriever, named Denver, as its Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) to manage the employees' stress during work hours.
