‘Bengaluru Jana Hai Kal’: Passengers Drop Requests After ‘IndiGo Auto Rickshaw’ Hits Roads
The chatter around IndiGo refuses to die down after its mass cancellations. The airline has been ordered by the government to slash its operations by 10 per cent after the massive crisis sparked by its flight cancellations over the past few days. The government ordered IndiGo to curtail its routes to stabilise its operations. In the midst of the controversy surrounding the company, a video of an “IndiGo" auto rickshaw has been making the rounds on social media.
Shared by content creator Shailendra Singh on Instagram, the clip shows him driving an auto rickshaw painted in the same colours as the IndiGo planes. Not just that, AI-generated video shows the vehicle also having wings and a rudder.

The clip shows Sahilendra Singh driving around in his auto rickshaw with no passengers. He makes a thumbs-up gesture for the camera. A few seconds later, the vehicle is shown flying in the air. Yes, it is an AI-generated video.

Social Media Reacts To “IndiGo Auto Rickshaw"
Ai ka sahi use ho rha hai (AI is being used properly), “ one account wrote.
Another joked, “Bhai Delhi Se Bhopal Le chalo (Take me from Delhi to Bhopal)."
“Haryana Roadways giving tough competition to airline companies," an individual quipped.
“Bhai ye mars pe na chali jaye aaram se chalana ( Just see that it doesn't go to Mars, drive safely)," another comment read.
One person called it the “best aircraft."
Another jokingly said, “Phir bhi indigo ke plane se jyada facilities h isme (It still has more facilities than an IndiGo plane)."
Content Creator Reacts To Video's Popularity
The original clip gained over 47,000 likes in three days. Talking about the response to the clip, Shailendra Singh dropped a video highlighting how responses had made his Indigo auto rickshaw “fly".

IndiGo Crisis Continues
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers met with Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, on December 9 to discuss how the airline was dealing with its cancellation crisis. Naidu dropped a photo from the meeting and wrote, “The Ministry considers it necessary to curtail the overall Indigo routes, which will help in stabilising the airline's operations and lead to reduced cancellations. A curtailment of 10% has been ordered. While abiding by it, Indigo will continue to cover all its destinations as before."

It was also announced that IndiGo had completed refunds for all of the flights affected till December 6. The announcement came as over 400 IndiGo flights were cancelled across the country, ANI reported.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation and have discussions with IndiGo on how to best deal with the cancellations and provide refunds.
