Apple TV To Rival Netflix And Amazon Prime With Ad-Based Plan? Here’s What The Company Said
Apple TV is probably one of the few platforms yet to fall into the ad-tier trap, something that Amazon, Netflix and Disney have launched in some countries. Apple usually doesn't prescribe to these tactics but with the streaming business costing a bomb, the companies need additional source of revenue and ads are the easy bet.
So should we expect Apple TV to launch with ads anytime soon? The company's marketing chief was recently quizzed about this trend and asked whether Apple is going to have a similar vision.
Apple TV With Ads: Coming Soon?
Apple chief in charge of services like Apple TV, Eddy Cue was quoted saying, the company is not planning for ad-tier plans for now but he left the door open for things to change in the future. “Nothing at this time. Again, I don't want to say no forever, but there are no plans. If we can stay aggressive with our pricing, it's better for consumers not to get interrupted with ads."
Apple has mostly kept its position clear and Cue making this statement allows the company to say that we didn't say we will never bring ads to the platform. Having said that, it will be very surprising to see Apple take this stance, even if its rivals benefit from having ad-tier plans that aids their user base loss to some extent.

The company recently decided to rebrand the streaming platform which is also called Apple TV now, and that makes it three products in the market with the same name. You have the Apple TV platform, Apple TV the device and the Apple TV icon has got a new colour tone upgrade recently.
Apple continues to keep its price aggressive in markets like India where you can get the streaming service for just Rs 99 per month, similar to Apple Music. The company will also be mindful that having ads between its content goes against the premium experience that many people expect from the brand.
