Anant Ambani’s Trainer Reveals Cheap Sources Of Protein: Hemp Seeds, Dal & More
Celebrity fitness trainer Vinod Channa recently revealed powerful sources of protein that most people ignore. Channa, who helped Anant Ambani lose weight in the past, opened up about Ayurveda-recommended Hemp seeds.
In his recent interaction with Bhavishya Sindwani, Channa also highlighted the importance of dal. Channa emphasised that exercise and nutrition need to go hand in hand.
Ayurveda-recommended Hemp seeds
Hemp seeds are a great source of vitamin E and minerals, such as phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, and zinc, per Healthiline. Vinod Channa says a lot of people are “unaware" that hemp seeds are also a “very good" source of protein.
“Hemp seeds have also been mentioned in Ayurveda, but over time, people have lost touch with them," Channa added. He said “just three tablespoons" of hemp seeds “can give you around 10 grams of protein".
Among other benefits, Healthline reports that hemp seeds reduce the risk of heart disease, prevent skin disorders, and lower PMS and menopause symptoms.
Dal is an excellent source of protein
Channa said people should also give importance to dal. He mentioned that dal is also a great source of protein. By the by, he explained the use of different types of dal. “There is masoor dal, the pink lentil. You can make dosa from it. You don't have to stick only to idli batter. You can also add it to regular batters," Channa said.
“Even if you use whole urad dal, add about 25 grams of moong dal and make idlis or dosas with it. These lentils can also be used to make rotis or even vegetables," he added.
Channa claims that with these whole-food protein sources, people can fulfil their daily needs without heavy supplements.
Exercise is not enough
Vinod Channa, in an old interview, said exercise was not enough for people who want to build muscle and have a stronger physique. He explained that exercise and nutrition need to go hand in hand.
“To build muscle, you need proper nutrition along with a good, intense, and progressive workout plan," he had said.
Channa added, “Your diet must include a balanced amount of protein, carbohydrates, fibre and other essential nutrients to ensure recovery and growth."
