The cancellation follows the scrapping of a data center project, for which the firm had sought a duty exemption. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has ordered a thorough probe into the deal, distancing himself and calling for an impartial investigation.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, has been asked to pay double stamp duty — around Rs 42 crore — to cancel the sale deed for a 40-acre land parcel in Pune's upscale Mundhwa area, according to multiple reports.
The Department of Registration and Stamps has reportedly issued a notice to Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, Parth's cousin and partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP, directing the firm to pay 7% stamp duty on the Rs 300 crore transaction (Rs 21 crore). On top of that, authorities have imposed an additional 7% for the cancellation deed — bringing the total to ?42 crore.
According to officials, Amadea Enterprises had earlier sought a 7% stamp duty exemption, amounting to Rs 21 crore, by citing plans to build a data centre on the site. However, the cancellation deed submitted by the company confirms that the project has been scrapped.
The disputed deal involves the sale of government-owned land in Pune's Mundhwa area to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm linked to Parth Pawar. The transaction has sparked controversy over alleged undervaluation of land and evasion of stamp duty.Ajit Pawar distances himself from son's deal
Reacting to the controversy, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said on Saturday that the land transaction involving his son was “completely beyond understanding” and “should not have happened.” He added that he has ordered a detailed probe into the matter.
“When we looked at the documents, the first question was — how did the registrar even process this transaction? It was completely beyond our understanding,” he said at a press conference in Pune.
“As soon as the matter came to my attention, I instructed officials to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, irrespective of who is involved.”
Pawar said he has spent over three decades in public life and has faced several “baseless” allegations, often timed around elections.
“In my 35 years in politics, many allegations have been made against me but none have been proven. Such claims usually surface before elections and disappear afterward,” he remarked.
He confirmed that the Chief Minister has taken the issue seriously and ordered a full probe.
“An FIR has already been filed against three people, including a Tehsildar. The police have begun their investigation, and raids have been conducted,” he said, adding that he had “absolutely no information” about the deal and would have objected had it come to his notice earlier.

The Opposition has demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged irregularities, even as Ajit Pawar reiterated that he has no personal connection to the deal.
According to a complaint filed by Santosh Ashok Hingane, Deputy District Registrar, the accused — Sheetal Kishanchand Tejwani, Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, and suspended Sub-Registrar Ravindra Balkrishna Taru — allegedly conspired to evade stamp duty worth ?6 crore during the registration of the sale deed for Survey No. 88, Mouje Mundhwa.
Despite a May 9, 2025, directive from the district administration to pay ?5.89 crore in stamp duty, the deed was reportedly executed without collecting the required amount — causing a significant loss to the state exchequer.
The FIR has been registered under Sections 316(5), 318(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, read with Section 59 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Registration in Pune has submitted an interim report on the alleged land scam to the Additional Chief Secretary in Mumbai.
